Everyone heals from a mental health disorder at their own pace. The programming we offer at Sierra at Scottsdale Outpatient Care, including our intensive outpatient program (IOP), can help you start living a more productive life.
About Our Intensive Outpatient Program
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Sierra at Scottsdale Outpatient Care offers a half day of highly structured behavioral health treatment. Many people step down to our IOP from our partial hospitalization program (PHP) or a higher level of care at another facility, while others start their healing journey at the IOP level.
This program serves adults age 18 and older of all genders who are struggling with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Our IOP can also support people who have a mental health concern and a co-occurring addiction.
You can expect to take part in the IOP at our outpatient center in Scottsdale, AZ, from 9 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday for four to six weeks depending on your individual progress.
Your care will be delivered by an expert team that may consist of a psychologist, licensed master’s-level social workers, licensed clinical social workers and a registered dietitian.
What to Expect
Not everyone responds to therapy the same way, so we ensure that each person follows a treatment plan that we customize to their needs. Before starting treatment, each person undergoes a comprehensive evaluation that informs the care they receive during their time in the IOP at Sierra at Scottsdale.
Group therapy is the main treatment method in our IOP. We offer three hours of psychotherapy and psychoeducational groups a day, four days a week, discussing topics such as behavioral activation, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and healthy body image.
We use different therapies during group sessions, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing.
IOP participants also take part in individual counseling every other week. These sessions typically focus on discharge planning, allowing you to work closely with a clinician to identify your aftercare supports and decide the next best step after treatment at our Scottsdale, AZ, facility.
Admissions
At Sierra at Scottsdale Outpatient Care, we understand how important it is to get treatment as quickly and efficiently as possible. When you reach out to our admissions team, you can expect the process to be quick and seamless.
To get started, contact us to schedule an initial assessment. During this process, one of our admissions coordinators will ask you about your medical history, the symptoms you have been experiencing and what you hope to accomplish by seeking treatment with us.
After completing your assessment, the admissions coordinator will forward this information to a team of professionals at our facility that will determine whether our intensive outpatient program is the best fit for you. We will then walk you through the necessary steps to complete the admissions process, including verifying your benefits and gathering any necessary paperwork.
